Brothers and Sisters—
I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the slower pace and additional family time that comes with this unique situation we’re in. I love you and am concerned for the welfare of each of you. Please remember that, although we are unable to see each other each Sunday at the church building for sacrament meeting, that we are all still nearby, ready to support one another and lighten any burdens.
I have been looking forward to this general conference for some time. I have spent time in the Sacred Grove and appreciate the gravity of the events that took place there 200 years ago. I take peace in the knowledge that God lives, that He loves us, that we are His children and that He will never leave our sides. While there may be periods of time that He allows us to learn “line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little” (2 Nephi 28:30), I also know that He has promised to assist us as we need additional strength.
“Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power, and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.” (Doctrine & Covenants 123:17)
With conference weekend upon us, here are some updated guidelines for your home worship:
- As a reminder, please do all you can to follow the state’s guidelines for social distancing. The more we do now, the sooner we can return to normal life.
- Administering the sacrament at home is NOT authorized this Sunday. We don’t typically take the sacrament on general conference weekend.
- Please reach out to families to whom you minister. This is a critical time for us to take care of one another — physically, spiritually, mentally and socially.
I love you and hope that each of you enjoys general conference weekend.
