Sisters and Brothers –
For the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking about a phenomenon that I’ve seen in our ward and throughout our lives. It’s the ability for us to succor in times of strength and be succored in times of weakness. We are all weak at times and strong at times. The important thing is to be aware of others enough to offer your strength when you have it and humble enough to ask for help when you need it.
“I would that ye should impart of your substance to the poor, every man according to that which he hath, such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and administering to their relief, both spiritually and temporally, according to their wants.
“And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order.” (Mosiah 4:26-27)
There are hundreds of us here in the neighborhood and ward. We have people to shoulder any necessary load.
Just ask.
Or answer.
I hope you are all continuing to do well physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially. This continues to be a difficult time, but please remember that better days are ahead. I know that. We will someday look back at this as a time when our perspective changed a little bit. Perhaps we will be a little more grateful to go into work or to have a date night at our favorite restaurant or to spend time with extended families.
Either way, I hope we continue to turn to the Lord in our times of trials, that we will have a stronger testimony of the Atonement and its infinite ability to help us rise during times when we’ve been pushed down.
I know we will be strengthened during our time of shared suffering.
For tomorrow, I am again approving worthy priesthood holders of the appropriate office to administer the sacrament in their homes for members of their family. We are still not authorized to take the sacrament to the homes of others, so we again ask for obedient patience for those who are unable to take the sacrament for this short period of time. Again, I would encourage you to prayerfully study the words of the sacrament prayers and contemplate on your own baptismal covenants.
The Lord will bless us in our obedience.
I love you all and hope you will all be strengthened throughout the week ahead. Please let me know if you need anything.
I will let you know if I do.
Deal?
