Sisters and Brothers –
Again, I hope this message finds you doing well and in good spirits. In times of trial, I have been bolstered by the testimony and commitment to the gospel illustrated by Abinadi in the Book of Mormon. Despite being the only person to stand up to the misguided and wicked example of King Noah and his priests, Abinadi’s fervor for Jesus Christ never failed.
“He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.” (Mosiah 16:9)
Christ’s influence on our life is eternal and infinite. My son got me thinking this week about the word “infinity.” He stated that, for the first time in his life, he realized that “infinity” isn’t a number. It’s a concept that includes all numbers — large and small.
That reminded me that Christ’s love is infinite — for issues large and small. It is without end and without sum. In absorbs everything into it. Our efforts — regardless of how meager — when combined with Christ are infinite. His grace is forever.
As we are in the quiet … or not-so-quiet … of our homes, please remember that Christ is with you. He’s there regardless of how large or small the issue. No matter how large or small the need. No matter how large or small the individual.
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and I hope that each ward member finds joy in the day. While it will be strange to not meet together as a ward on this day, I hope that mothers and women everywhere will feel loved, appreciated and cared for.
I am again authorizing the sacrament to be administered in homes of members by worthy priesthood holders of the appropriate priesthood office. You are also authorized to take the sacrament to homes other than our your own as needed based on the same guidelines as last week — including that all involved are comfortable with the situation, no one is exhibiting symptoms, proper hygiene is followed, masks are worn and the time spent together is limited.
Take care of one another and remember that the Lord loves you. Please reach out if you need anything.
