Sisters and Brothers—
I hope each of you were able to participate in our stake conference last week. It was a tremendous opportunity to feel the love of the Savior and be enriched by the testimonies of our friends and neighbors. It was especially wonderful to be able to move forward with the conference virtually, despite the pandemic and physical distancing efforts.
While there were numerous meaningful thoughts and testimonies on the weekend, I was drawn to several testimonies regarding the power of prayer. President Shane Day shared an experience from his youth where offering a prayer as a first thought instead of a last-ditch effort led to his father coming to his physical rescue through a spiritual impression.
That reminder of keeping prayer at the forefront of our journey — not as something we do when everything else fails, but something that we do before and during our best efforts — is one that I needed and will surely bless my life.
I’m sure many of you have similar “favorite lessons” from the conference — both spoken and impressed into your heart through the Holy Ghost — and I encourage you to learn from them, implement them and enjoy the associated blessings.
As we move into the Sabbath day today, I encourage each of you to participate in the sacrament. For families with last names that start with H through P, you are invited to in-person participation of sacrament meeting at the church. For others, please view sacrament meeting online. Following sacrament meeting, you are authorized to have worthy priesthood holders of the appropriate office administer the sacrament in your homes. If you need assistance or have any questions, please reach out to a members of the elders quorum presidency, Relief Society presidency or bishopric.
